So I put my name into the fanfiction love meme here. Now, you might be saying to yourself, "pearl, didn't you just post a link to one of those memes yesterday?" And the answer is yes. Yes, I did. But this is a different one, okay? And I'm feeling shameless and pathetic, and I figure just_katarin is already judging me, so a little bit more isn't going to hurt, right? Right.

More Star Trek news: along with "What Little Girls Are Made Of" I've also finished "All My Yesterdays" (which was very Bones/Spock, which I normally don't even see, since I'm not big on the pairings; "Charlie X" (which I HATED); and "The Cloud Minders". That last one I think I enjoyed more than it actually deserved, and I'm not totally sure why. It didn't hurt that Kirk's plan was not only incredibly stupid, but had a IN EPISODE REASON for being so stupid -- and then worked anyway, of course. I'm still feeling very WTF over Spock calmly discussing pon farr with a random chick he just met though, because ... seriously, WTF.

I was commenting in basingstoke's journal yesterday, I think, and we got onto the subject of pon farr, and I was trying to explain how confused the canon on it makes me. ( Spoilers for Amok Time, Search for Spock, and Star Trek (2009) )

ANYWAY. Did you guys know it's DECEMBER already? I know, right? fox1013 is turning 25 on Tuesday, and I'm turning 25 the Sunday after that. In less than four weeks I have a happy_coconut! Now if only I had a job visible in the distance, things would be good.

The thing is, I was watching out of order, just random catching my eyes, and only a couple are left, and ... a lot of them are not very good. I don't have any comments on "Who Mourns For Adonais?" The only thing I have to say about "The Changeling" is that I am kind of shocked/pissed at what they did to Uhura. "The Apple" is kind of boring, but there is bizarre spy music in the background AND it does have a very nice Spock/Kirk moment, as follows:

Oh man, I just rediscovered my old Pete/Mikey playlist today! I haven't listened to it in a long while, and some of the songs are a slightly angstier take on the pairing than I'm really feeling these days, but some of them are still right on. Mike Doughty's "I Hear the Bells", for example, is exactly what I needed this afternoon. I stole the title for this from those lyrics.

Hello! I was productive today and wrote the porn I've been babbling about to shoemaster and impertinence and lordessrenegade! Here it is, if you would like to read it. I have been trying and failing at describing it to people, but let's go with dead!Mikey!spirit-in-Pete's-head jerk-off porn. Okay?

This starts out like commenty/chatfic (because I am quoting from an actual email I sent Jai) but then it becomes much more storylike for the actual porn. I will probably not write more in this universe, because the stuff that would make up the actual *story* part of it doesn't interest me as much to write? So, due warning and all that.
