HEY THERE ARE SOME AWESOME MEMES GOING AROUND, HUH? :D? :D?

If you wanted to do one, that would be pretty awesome, because I like talking about things I have written.

1. Inspired by Doctor Who's "Turn Left:" Pick one of my stories and tell me a point in the tale that you'd change. Something tiny (e.g. "and then Fay chose silver glitter instead of gold") or big (e.g. "and then Rose was arrested instead of Jack") and I'll tell you how that one difference would have altered the course of the entire story.

2. Pick any of my stories (well, most of them are there. But if you remember any of the ones that aren't yet, go ahead and use them( and write the WORST possible description of it, and then I have to guess which one it is.

YOU GUYS I MADE DINNER TONIGHT AND IT WAS INSANELY DELICIOUS. Balsamic-glazed salmon, green onion risotto, and roasted baby carrots (two pound bag of baby carrots tossed with olive oil and salt, cooked at 475 for twenty minutes, shaking & tossing several times in the second half of cooking; I also put them under the broiler for a few minutes at the end, because I like them ever done).

That is pretty much all I have to say. Except how heartwarming it is to read ICH comments and see how the whole community can come together on how worthless sluts are.

I don't want to go to sleep yet, so, uh. YOU GET A PICSPAM INSTEAD. This is basically me dumping out my TOS folder on you without a theme besides "makes me happy!" Shots from both series and movies, though I don't think anything actually spoilery.

I got to admit, though, I'm still thinking about the utter gay of Bread & Circuses. GAAAAAAAAAAAY.

You know, you spend so much time laughing at and with Shatner that it's always a little weird when you look at him and suddenly realize that Jesus Christ, he was a legitimate hottie. There are a couple of times when Kirk actually makes me catch my breath. I don't know exactly why that happens so suddenly when I'll go for ages watching him without the same realization, but it does.

I also finished Spectre of the Gun but I have no real thoughts pn that beyond SEXY MIND MELDING WOOOOO.

Quick book recommendation: So, hey, those of you who have a kink for historical fiction with love stories featuring girl-dressed-up-as-a-boy-for-reasons-of-plot falling in love with dude-who-doesn't-know-she's-really-a-girl? (And don't lie, I know there are a ton of you.) Blindspot is a little slow for the first hundred pages or so, but once it gets going, it delivers on that plotline but good. You'll dig it.

I think it's time for me to start watching more Star Trek again, after taking a couple weeks off. I did "Operation: Annihilate!" yesterday and was well-pleased. I love me some Kirk angst, yessirree. I think I'm finally ready to watch Voyage Home, too, so woohoo!

(Thinking about Search for Spock some more, it turns out the "Jim. Your name is Jim" is an OTP moment for me right up there with large sections of Call of the Wild in Due South. MY HEART, YOU GUYS. MY HEART.)

Yesterday I had excellent cooking adventures! Spaghetti with oil and garlic and chickpeas for lunch, lamburgers stuffed with feta for dinner, and in the evening blackberry-raspberry ice cream. Nothing exciting today, but I might make more pickled garlicky red peppers tomorrow before work.

I am getting really impatient to go ahead and move already. My plan to make this the Best Summah EVAH kind of fell apart, because I am poor and sleep a lot and also organizing my friends is like herding cats. Less than two months! That is actually starting to sound more exciting and less fear-inducing.

In other news, I wish I had a soda right now. Maybe I will make happy_coconut walk up to the Plaid Pantry with me later.

Hey, the story I fanmixed for got posted for bandombigbang! It's called i don't like this party or the sound and it's by yellsurprise. The listed pairings are Pete/Patrick & Pete/Mikey (there's also a little unrequited Frank/Mikey) and ... okay, it has a lot of infidelity in it and it doesn't have such a happy ending, so if that squicks you you probably shouldn't read it? But if you're the kind of person who kind of loves poking your bruises as hard as you can (and I happen to be one of those people!), it's really well done and will completely wrench you the hell out. Also it has some really nice cameos from all sorts of different bandomy people (Ashlee, Cobras, some PatD, Lindsey, Alicia, Greta). Basically, you should check it out. And then you can download my fanmix, because I am actually really freaking proud of it. Yay!

In other news, this Star Trek reboot vid to "Don't Stop Believing" is way awesomer than it has any right to be. I miss vidding. :( One of my goals for this summer was to try my hand at again, but it's been literally years, and I had never actually gotten good at it, so I would be starting over completely from scratch. I don't know if I'll have the time. I do have an amazing John Crichton song, though, so who knows.

This post wins the internet. There is nothing better than Nimoy in full Spock garb, breaking character to just grin. You may think there is something better? But you would be wrong. (I know there are lots of other Star Trek bloopers on youtube, but most of them seem to be impossible to watch because of of quality issues.)

Apparently my brain remembered today that it used to think about other fandoms, too, because I spent a little while earlier thinking about how I still wish there was a Waycest AU for "We Have Always Lived In the Castle." Man, that book was awesome.

Now back to watching TOS episodes.

You guys. I want all the fic in the WORLD about Sarek/Amanda. Reboot or TOS, I don't even care. I've search delicious, but there's almost nothing there (and certainly no porn). There's a couple cute gennish things sprinkled among the kink meme, but not enough to satisfy my craving. I want to know about them meeting and their falling in love and their marriage and their sex life and their first pon farr and when Spock was a little baby and everything.

This is one of those situations where everything I want to read is locked away in 30 year old zines, isn't it? Forty year old fandoms >:(

Also I mentioned this earlier in a locked entry, but I could totally go for some reboot Chapel/Uhura. (Just because Chapel didn't appear onscreen doesn't mean we can't write hot femslash about her, you know. It never stopped boyslashers.)

Other than that I just pretty much everyone to write 5 million stories almost-exactly-the-same-but-slightly-different about ( I guess this counts as spoilery? )
